Shenandoah Hardwood Lumber Company was originally built in 1954 by Manley Fitzgerald and Simon Ramsey. The ownership of the facility changed hands several times before being purchased by Shenandoah Hardwood Lumber Company in 2003.

Previous owners included Vestal Lumber Co.; Atlantic Lumber Co.;  Kimberly-Clark (1966);  Owens Illinois (1976);  Nekoosa Packaging (1986) and Georgia-Pacific Corporation (1988).

Many of the former Georgia-Pacific employees have continued their careers with Shenandoah Hardwood Lumber including supervisors in production, kiln drying, packaging, shipment & sales enabling our customers to receive the same high quality “B.V.” lumber that has earned their respect over time.
